It was the Amorique conquest by the Romans which brutally interrupted the development of this Gaulish settlement. The armoricain tribes were beaten in 56BC and progressively Romanised.
Under the empire, important cities were developed: Condate (now Rennes), Condevicnum (Nantes), Fanum Martis (Corseul), Vorgium (Carhaix) and Darioritum (Vannes). They each had a forum, temples, thermal baths, theatres, paved roads, sometimes even aqueducts and they became examples to the rest of the Empire.
Christianity came late, but quickly, to LArmorique (400AC).
